Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us about Buzzloo, its draws and Secret Santa by link.

Is the draw really random?

Yes. Every draw uses the browser’s secure random generator (or the server’s, for Secret Santa and results pages), the same kind used to create passwords. Every name has exactly the same chance, and nobody, not even us, can choose the result.

Do I need to create an account?

No. No tool asks for an account, an email address or a phone number. For Secret Santa, one private link per person replaces any sign-up.

How does Secret Santa by link work?

The organizer types the names and the couples who can’t draw each other, the site does the draw and gives a private link for each participant. The organizer sends each link by WhatsApp, text or any other messaging service; everyone finds out on their own page who they’re buying for and can write a wish list. It’s all explained on the Secret Santa page.

Can the Secret Santa organizer take part?

Yes. The organizer page shows the links and who has opened theirs, never who’s buying for whom. All the organizer has to do is open only their own link.

Do I need to install anything?

No, nothing at all. Buzzloo is a website: everything happens in the browser of your phone or computer, from the page or from the link you received.

What happens to a Secret Santa after the party?

It’s deleted automatically 60 days after the exchange date, along with the names and wish lists. With no date, it’s deleted 120 days after it was created. The organizer can also delete it at any time.

Are the names I type into the tools sent anywhere?

No. For the wheel, teams, random order, chores or name picker, your lists stay in your browser (when you send your wheel, its slices travel inside the link, without going through our server). Only Secret Santa, giveaway results pages, quiz buzzer games (names, scores, questions) and score counter games (names and points for each round) are saved on our server, in France, because they have to be found again through their link.

Can I pick the winner of an Instagram giveaway?

Yes, with the giveaway picker: paste the comments from your post, the site finds the @handles, removes duplicates and draws the winners and alternates. The results page, created by the server, can’t be changed afterward.

How does the quiz buzzer work?

In the same room, the host opens a room on the TV or a laptop, everyone scans the QR code and their phone becomes a buzzer: the first to press pops up big on the screen. Remotely, a game lasts from 1 day to 1 week in your WhatsApp group, and everyone takes turns asking a question. It’s all on the quiz buzzer page, and 240 true or false questions are ready to play.

How does the score counter work?

Choose the game (belote, French tarot, rummy, Skyjo, Uno, Yacht dice or the score sheet), type the first names and send the link to the group: everyone sees the same scoreboard live on their phone. Each round, one person enters the points, or the bid and declarations, and Buzzloo does the math using that game’s rules. It’s all on the score counter page.

Is it really free?

Yes, for everyone. The site may show a few ads on the guides, the quiz questions and under some tools, but never on a Secret Santa’s private pages, on the quiz buzzer’s game screens or on the score counter’s scoreboards.

What languages is the site in?

For now, English and French. More languages are on the way, each adapted to its country (Secret Santa is called “Wichteln” in Germany and “Amigo invisible” in Spain).
