Dare Wheel: Funny, Friendly Dares to Spin

Lost the board game, celebrating a birthday, or the party needs a spark? The dare wheel picks a funny, friendly dare to do right away, in front of everyone. Change the slices if you like, then send the wheel to your friends with a link.

How to play with the dare wheel

  1. Check the dares already on the wheel: keep them, edit them, or load one of the ready-made lists.
  2. Whoever lost the game, or each player in turn, spins the wheel.
  3. The winning dare shows up in big letters under the wheel: do it right away, or pass your turn.
  4. Playing apart? Tap “Send my wheel” and share the link by WhatsApp, text message or a copied link.

When to bring out the dare wheel

The dare wheel is for any moment that needs a quick, silly challenge without ten minutes of brainstorming. Whoever loses the board game spins, and the whole table finds out the dare at the same time they do. It works just as well at a kid’s birthday party, a sleepover, a family reunion, a holiday get-together with the cousins, or a break during the office party.

The idea is simple: a good dare is short, funny, and done right away, in front of everyone. You all laugh, then get back to the game. Every dare already on the wheel takes a few seconds and needs no props.

House rules that keep it fun

A good dare gets people laughing with the player, never at them. Before the first spin, agree on a few simple rules:

  • Anyone can pass, anytime, no explanation needed. Nobody pushes, and the next player spins.
  • Keep dares short: about thirty seconds, or until your next turn for dares like “robot voice.”
  • No touching other people, nothing to eat or drink, nothing that costs money, and nobody grabs someone else’s phone.
  • Match the dares to the room: a group of six-year-olds and a table of grown-ups won’t want the same list.
  • Once it’s done, it’s done: everyone claps, and nobody brings it up again.

If nobody likes a dare, just delete that slice before the next spin.

Dare ideas to copy

You can swap the slices for your own ideas. Here’s a list to borrow from, sorted by mood.

To crack up the whole table

  • Describe your day in a cartoon character voice.
  • Give tomorrow’s forecast like a TV meteorologist.
  • Do a late-night infomercial for something in the room: a spoon, a pillow, the remote.
  • Talk like a pirate until your next turn.
  • Make three different animal sounds in a row.
  • Give an award acceptance speech and thank everyone at the table.

To get moving

  • Crab walk to the door and back.
  • Freeze like a statue for twenty seconds without laughing.
  • Dance with no music for ten seconds.
  • Act out a sport and let everyone guess which one.

For little kids

  • Hop five times like a kangaroo.
  • Be a cat, then a dog, then a lion.
  • Strike a superhero pose.
  • Make someone at the table laugh without touching them.

For a quiet table or coworkers

  • Give a sincere compliment to anyone you choose.
  • Whistle or hum a tune for the others to name.
  • Draw a cat with your eyes closed.
  • Say hello in three languages.

The ready-made lists at the top of the page build on these ideas: “Dares for kids,” “Board game loser” and “Low-key dares.” Load the one that fits, then edit the slices however you like.

How the Buzzloo wheel works

Every slice gets the same share of the wheel. The moment you press spin, the site picks the winning dare with your browser’s secure random generator, then spins the wheel so it lands right there, so nobody can aim for a slice. Want a dare to come up more often? Write it twice and it gets two slices. Or delete a dare once it’s been done so it doesn’t come back.

The winning dare shows up in big letters under the wheel, in full, which helps with longer dares or reading it out loud.

Friends not all in the same room? Tap “Send my wheel” to share a link by WhatsApp, text message, or anywhere you paste it. Everyone opens the same wheel, with the same dares, and spins it on their own phone. The slices travel inside the link: nothing is stored on our server, and nobody needs an account.

More wheels for the same night

Dares pair nicely with other games. For a twist, try the truth or dare wheel: it decides whether the player gets a dare or a question. In December, the Christmas wheel suggests holiday activities and challenges, and the letter wheel picks the starting letter for a round of word games.

To decide who goes first, draw a random order; to split into two sides, use the random team generator. Rather build a wheel from scratch? The spin the wheel page takes any ideas you like. And if the night turns into trivia, the quiz buzzer and our guide to hosting a quiz night are ready when you are. Every other picker is on the Buzzloo home page.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a good dare?

Short, funny and safe, something you can do right away in front of everyone: a chicken dance, a robot voice, a weather report. It should get people laughing with the player, never at them.

What if someone doesn’t want to do their dare?

They pass, no explanation needed, and the next player spins. It’s a game, so nobody has to do anything.

What are good dares for kids?

Dares that get them moving or giggling, with nothing embarrassing: hop like a kangaroo, roar like a lion, strike a superhero pose. Load the “Dares for kids” list at the top of the page.

Can we play with friends who aren’t here?

Yes: tap “Send my wheel” and share the link by WhatsApp, text message, or copy it. Everyone opens the same wheel on their own phone, no account needed, and nothing is stored on our server.

Is the dare wheel really random?

Yes: the winning dare is drawn with your browser’s secure random generator before the wheel starts turning. To make a dare come up more often, write it twice.
